THE 70s
Whilst maintaining a firm grip on its own identity and refusing to hide the company name behind other great brands, Renzo Rossetti worked alongside the big names who were making fashion history. They were partnerships based on a reciprocal consultation which formed the cultural and emotional heritage of Fratelli Rossetti. A young Giorgio Armani designed a stunning series of Yacht models, the new leisure range conceived in those years. Valentino, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent, Mila Schön, Gucci, Ferragamo, Karl Lagerfeld and Dumas Hèrmes: thanks to these inspired partnerships, the research and craftsmanship of the Rossetti brothers was combined with the most creative minds of our times, producing unique results.
In 1971 the first women’s shoes were produced. It was the period of unisex fashion in which men’s clothing was inspired by women’s clothes, and women’s clothes began to look more like men’s garments. Other crossovers included the big hit of belts with a spring-opening metal clasp, like the top-of-the-range watches.
1977 saw the launch of the Green, a youthful range focusing above all on penny-loafer style moccasins.
