A night
in Beirut

December 5th, 2012 – Beirut celebrates the Made in Italy with a special event dedicated to Fratelli Rossetti and hosted by Mode & Accessories. Focus of the evening, held on December 5th at the boutique in the ABC Shopping Centre, the Brera loafer, both in its classical and in the high heel Lady Brera version. Common element is the legendary tassels, which were introduced in Italy for the first time by Renzo Rossetti during the Sixties. The set-up is based on a selection of works by the famous Italian artist Alessandro Gedda: paintings and sculptures which are part of the international exhibition Tribute to Marilyn, organized in occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the passing of Marilyn Monroe (5 August 1962).
3 Marilyn Monroe paintings and 5 sculptures inspired by the Lady Brera shoe (the high heel version of the Brera loafer), and dedicated to the actress.
Among the 5 Lady Brera sculptures, also one specifically dedicated to Beirut, that was presented for the first time in this occasion. In the presence of the Fratelli Rossetti President, Diego Rossetti, an artisan illustrates some of the most exclusive Fratelli Rossetti techniques such as the hand painting named Toledo or the hand cutting.
The Fratelli Rossetti shoe factory was founded in 1953 by Renzo Rossetti and from 2003 it is managed by his 3 sons, Diego, Dario and Luca. The company, with 325 employees and a turnover in 2012 of 80 million euro, 40% in Italy and 60% abroad, is now one of the most important of the sector.
