With our hands

Fratelli Rossetti has a long tradition of “great little innovations”: within the company, tradition and quality have always gone hand-in-hand with insatiable curiosity and a commitment to innovation. From the introduction of tassels and the invention of shoes designed to be worn without socks, to stylistic innovations and the launch of the “mannish” style, through to the application of colour in unrepeatable chromatic hues. It was Renzo Rossetti himself who stressed the importance of embracing new materials, styles and shapes: back in the ’60s, along with a tanner friend, he was already experimenting with different colour combinations on leather. Today the company continues its research and development activities thanks to the knowhow of its Master Artisans and the creative flair of the style department.

Thanks to outstanding craftsmanship, Fratelli Rossetti shoes are made to stand the test of time: nonetheless, like all precious objects, they should be handled with the greatest of care. Meticulous treatment will ensure that shoes retain their original softness, suppleness and lustre over time.
Here are a few simple tips:
- When not wearing your shoes, store them perfectly clean and with proper wooden shoe trees.
- It is best not to wear the same shoes for several consecutive days. In addition, always use a shoe horn to put your shoes on. With lace-up shoes, always fully loosen the laces before taking them off.
- Before cleaning, always allow shoes to dry out slowly (sweat/rain) far away from any heat sources, again with proper wooden shoe trees inside.
- A damp cloth is all that is needed for cleaning shoes.
- To keep the leather of your shoes in perfect condition, apply a light layer of wax-based cream to the perfectly clean, dry shoes, then brush and buff them.
- If you plan to not wear your shoes for a prolonged period of time, ideally you should apply a thin layer of polish and store them in the protective cloth bag provided, inside their box.
