BRERA LOAFERS

BRERA LOAFERS

Brera is the “artists neighbourhood” where, in the ’60s, sculptors, painters and writers used to struggle to make their mark with new languages and new forms.
Its liberal and unprejudiced atmosphere was the source of inspiration of the “Brera”, the tasselled moccasin loafer, a style revolution in a country that was only just starting to recover its love of life.
The economic boom had just started, and Italian products were just beginning to make a reputation for themselves outside the country.
As in an artistic composition, Brera combines different materials and colours: plum colour pony skin with garnet briarwood, polished calfskin with black suede.
This special combination of materials and forms makes the Brera one of the most successful chapters in the Fratelli Rossetti story.
A chapter that is now seeing the start of a different story.
